I made this portrait about 8 or 9 year ago on the beach in the Whalehead section of Corolla in the Outer Banks, imagine what has happened to everyone in this image since then, and how everyone has grown and changed, yet this portrait remains unchanged, a moment in 11 lives saved forever………..11 stories that continue to be told………

and on another note, lots of snow here in NJ at the moment.

Got in a nice 5 miler yesterday in Allamuchy State Park, which brought the milage so far this year to 181,

and the running streak to 2861 days in a row.

Outer Banks Photographers and Dogs ( and cats and birds and…………. )

I just ran across this beach portrait of “Tank” the dog taken a couple of summers ago in Corolla, NC and just had to share it again. Isn’t he the coolest!

I work with my clients pets all of the time, after all, they are part of the family aren’t they.

In the past two days I’ve scheduled beach portraits in the Outer Banks with two large families that will both be including their pets. Both families will be including two dogs and about 35 people! One is going to be up on the 4 wheel drive beach in Carova, and the other is going to be in Hatteras…………I can’t wait, these are both going to be tons of fun!

Not all Outer Banks photographers work with pets, and not all will venture up in the 4 wheel drive area. So if you or some one you know is interested in a beautiful portrait of their large family which includes their pets, you know who to call or refer them to, especially if you or they are going to be Carova or Swan Beach in the 4 wheel drive area.

and on another note

I’ve been big into smoothies lately, 1) to help fuel and recover from my running habit, and 2), simply because I like them :-)

Here’s one I made this morning, a banana nut smoothie , which was a tad more fun drinking from my favorite Guinness glass.

Check out the recipe below from the Realistic Nutritionist blog.

Serves 1.
Prep time: >5 minutes

Ingredients:

1 banana
2 tablespoons oats (I used quick-cooking)
1 tablespoon Bob’s Red Mill almond meal
1 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons non-fat Chobani Greek yogurt
Dash of cinnamon
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:

Place the banana, oats, almond meal, milk, greek yogurt, cinnamon, honey and about 1 1/2 tablespoons walnuts in the blender. Blend until completely smooth.
Pour the smoothie into a jar and garnish with crushed walnuts and a few banana slices.
