The New Official Seal of the Republic of Corolla
The Seal of the Republic of Corolla is a masterpiece of coastal symbolism, steeped in salt air, sunburn, and just the right amount of rebellion.
At its center rises the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, standing tall as the Republic’s eternal beacon—guiding confused locals, lost tourists, wayward pelicans, and the occasional rogue paddleboarder safely home. It represents vigilance, hospitality, and our shared commitment to never climbing all those stairs again.
To the side, a surfer carries his board overhead, symbolizing the tireless pursuit of the perfect wave (and the willingness to look heroic doing it). His stance reflects the Republic’s national motto: “Stay Upright and Carry On.”
The wild horse gallops freely across the sands, a proud descendant of Spanish explorers—or maybe just the world’s most photogenic beach bum. Either way, it reminds us that true freedom requires no fence, no shoes, and definitely no schedule.
