Carova sessions are not the same as typical beach photography. Access, timing, light, and logistics all work differently here. I’m one of the few photographers who regularly services Carova, Swan Beach, and the surrounding 4x4 communities, and I keep the entire process easy and relaxed.

1) Do you really photograph in Carova and the Currituck 4WD beaches?
Yes. I regularly photograph families in Carova, Swan Beach, and the surrounding Currituck 4x4 communities. Carova sessions have different logistics than “normal” beach sessions, and I guide you through the whole thing so it stays easy and relaxed.
2) What makes a Carova 4x4 portrait session different from Corolla or Duck?
Carova is quieter, wilder, and more remote — which is exactly why families love it. But access, timing, wind, and travel logistics can all be different out on the 4WD beaches. I plan around those realities so we get clean, timeless portraits without stress.
3) We have a large multi-generation group. Can you handle 12–30+ people?
Absolutely — large family groups are my specialty. Sessions are calm, efficient, and organized, even when kids wander and someone’s always “just grabbing one more thing.” I’ll get the classic group portrait and the smaller combinations that matter most.
4) Can we bring our dog to the session?
Yes — bring the dog. Many 4x4 families travel with pups, and dogs are always welcome in my sessions.
5) Where do we meet for a Carova photo session?
Most Carova sessions happen close to where you’re staying — the goal is simple logistics, not complicated travel. Once I know your approximate location (Carova/Swan Beach/etc.), I’ll recommend the best plan and timing.
6) What’s the best time of day for Carova beach portraits?
The most flattering light is usually the last 60–90 minutes before sunset. Morning can also be beautiful (and often quieter). I’ll recommend the best option for your week based on weather, tides, and your group.
7) What should we wear for Carova family photos?
Keep it simple and classic: soft neutrals, light blues, sandy tones, and minimal logos. Bare feet are perfect. The goal is a timeless portrait that still looks great decades from now.
8) How far in advance should we book?
Carova is popular for reunions and multi-family vacations, and prime times fill up. If you already have your travel week, reach out early — and if you’re already in town, it’s still worth asking about availability.
9) Do you offer wall portraits and finished artwork (not just digital files)?
Yes. My work is designed to live on your walls — classic, heirloom portraits you’ll still love long after the vacation is over. We’ll talk through the best finished options for your home.
