Little Olivia said hello to us on March 16, 2012, and her awesome grandmother and I are so psyched to have her in our lives!

Is she too cute or what? Can’t wait to get her on a surfboard – lol

The first few days of life are so special and exciting, and about 10 -14 days old is the perfect time to do newborn portraits. Olivia was 10 days old in this one.

Do you know anyone who is expecting! Do them a huge favor and make them do a portrait of their newborn. It is a unique time that goes by so very fast, and besides having these newborn portraits for you and your family, newborn portraits are perfect for birth announcements, and make perfect gifts for grandparents, godparents and the entire family.

While in Ithaca, NY visiting Olivia and her parents I got to sneak out and make some pictures, this waterfall just outside of town is one of my favorites.

As a professional photographer in the Outer Banks I’ve had a very prolific few days lately, in addition to working with The Island School of Dance in Nags Head, N.C. all week and making images like this,

I made this image while on my run on Tuesday morning, which is part of my iPhone Photo du Jour project.

This family portrait on the beach in Corolla was made the same morning,

and this picture was made later the same evening at the Nags Head Pier.

For the techies out there, it was made with a 30 second exposure at f22, and processed in Adobe Lightroom 4 and Photoshop 4.

And ah, oh yeah, the running streak is still going strong at 1842 days.

When I wanted you to share my life, I had no doubt in my mind……….

And it’s been you baby, right down the line……..

wow, from one of my all time favorite love songs…… Gerry Rafferty’s “Right Down the Line”, I listened to Bonnie Raitts magnificent cover of it about 10 times on my run today and thought about Patti ( aka Skippy) the whole time, it just seems to have always fit……I’m a pretty lucky dude……. (click the spotify link below for a listen).

got in a nice 8 1/2 miler this morning, and listened to the same spotify playlist as a few weeks ago while in the Outer Banks, and it really made for a magical run, you can check out the course here. Kind of a slow easy run, and the time was slower than usual because the weather and the music and the scenery was just hitting me and I had to stop every now and then and take some pictures.

I’m really lucky to live by such great places to run!

My regular course goes through the old NJ State Fish Hatchery in Hackettstown.

And I’ll tell you, even though I’ve got 3 dozen marathons under my belt, and I haven’t missed a day of running in over 5 years, my belly is still under my belt too,

and when I go one way, it still goes the other way – lol!

I guess I need to eat a little less often & do P90X ab ripper a lot more often – lol

NJ Pet Photographer / Outer Banks Photographer

Asbury Park, NJ

So the other day this Outer Banks Photographer once again found himself in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and although it sure ain’t the Outer Banks, it’s a very cool place in it’s own right, with tons of history…..Springsteen, Tillie, the Stone Pony, madame Marie, Casino Pier and on and on.

Mostly kind of run down at the moment, Asbury Park has always had a very cool underlying vibe for me, and I would love to see it make a comeback to it’s former glory. If you are ever in the area, and have never been to Asbury Park, you really should stop and check it out, there are some great restaurants on the boardwalk, and also a few blocks off the beach back in town. Lots of art galleries too.

Dog Days of Winter

Here’s a couple of portraits from the Dog Days of Winter portrait fund raiser to benefit Eleventh Hour Resuce. Sebastian and Marty were a lot fun to work with, and I’m looking forward to making a lot more four legged friends over the next couple of weeks.

Outer Banks Photographer / NYC Wedding Photographer

So yesterday this Outer Banks photographer photographed a really cool small wedding in the Manhattan that was held in, according to this New York Times review, the last great French restaurant in New York City.

As you can see, La Grenouille is very elegant, and was definitely a wonderful place for a wedding.

The ceremony was held in an upstairs room on a balcony, so all of the guests (and the photographer) had a great view.

The room was so warm and cozy.

I’ve been working in New York City quite a bit lately, and have been really digging it.

So if you know anyone getting married in NYC be sure to have them contact me.

Yes, I am an Outer Banks Pet Photographer too!

It was kind of rainy and chilly on this Sadie Hawkins Day here in NJ, and I got to thinking about summer and Corolla and the Outer Banks while I was doing some computer work, and then Gracie (our Jack Russell) jumped up on my lap and I started thinking about how much she loves the beach. That got me to thinking about all the dogs that I work with each summer, and I remembered these three images that came across my desktop the other day as I was doing some filing, so I thought that I would share them with you guys.

The Outer Banks is so pet friendly, so why not bring your buddies along with you on vacation? There are many pet stores along the entire Outer Banks, with two of my favorites, Dog Nutz in Corolla, and Outer Barks in Duck, the perfect places to take to take your dog(s) after a long day at the beach.
