A ton of toys were donated by you guys, and many smiles were brought to the faces of children that are not as fortunate as us this holiday season. Here are some of the toys just before being donated.

and for those that are interested, my running streak hit 5 years yesterday, that’s 1826 days without missing a day of running at least one mile……..2011′s total miles were 1231!

Once again, that you all so much for your continued support and love.

Corolla Light Resort here in Corolla has a very cool program called OBX Wounded Warrior, which donates vacation homes to our wounded veterans and their families.

Today Corolla Surf Shop donated  surf lessons to several of the families and I was very proud to be able to document the lessons, and provide these families with photographs from todays lessons.

So last weekend I was up north to photograph a wedding in Summit, NJ and another one in Doylestown, PA

so this morning at about 9:30 AM I was headed out to the beach to do some surf photos with Corolla Surf Shops Surf School

and what did I see……….a “professional photographer”  working with a family on the beach……….I thought to myself “are they crazy, at this time of day?” The ONLY times to do real portraits at the beach is when the sun is going down…..or coming up…….that’s when the magic happens, anytime else is just way too bright, everybody just squints, it’s way too hot, ant there are way too many people on the beach. I was disappointed that this “pro” would be doing this.

The family looked like very nice folks, I just feel so bad because I know what their “portraits” are going to like……..probably not what they had in mind……..

and I know that the photographer did not care, he was just going to post the images online, or send the customer a disk of files and he was never going to have to see them again.

This is what their portrait will look like, because it will never get retouched properly or never even be printed at all!

Below is an image from my session last evening in Southern Shores……….an amazing family from NJ celebrating a 50th anniversary…….

as you can see, the magic light was definitely happening.

I hope to have a 50thaniversary someday and have such a wonderful family to help me celebrate it………..I’m only 17 years away….lol

tomorrow it will hit 1678 days with an 18 miler………..hope there’s time for a nap tomorrow afternoon….lol!
